I had a positive FIT test and have a consultation tomorrow before a colonoscopy. Feeling very nervous and sad.
Hi Mazda83d506 and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.
I’m Anne, one of the Community Champions here on the Online Community, and although I haven't had the same tests as you, I know how worrying waiting for tests and then the results can be.
The online community is divided into different support groups and I can see that you've already found and joined the bowel cancer group which is a great place to connect directly with others who have been through what you're going through now.
When you feel ready you can start a new post in the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.
It would be great if you could put something about what's led you to this point into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
All the best for today
Hello all.
I went to the hospital, just today, to have a mammogram and scan, then a biopsy. It was for the breast lump, I had found.
I now have to wait to get the results of the biopsy. Very worried, but, at the moment, keeping it all together and trying to be calm. Any advise, please. Thank you
Hi Countrylass3f0303 and a very warm welcome to the online community
Having gone through the same tests as you I know how worrying waiting for results can be. My advice would be to try and immerse yourself in things that you enjoy doing so you don't have time to think about the 'what ifs'.
Also do post in the breast cancer group, which I can see you've joined, as there's nothing like talking to others who have either been where you are now or are currently going through the same process.
Wishing you all the bestThank you, for your reply and support. Yes, a very daunting day, yesterday, but I am quite positive, so much so that I am surprising myself. I am getting on with things, as usual, and my husband is a great support, too. I will definitely look to this group, for advice and support and hope that anyone else going through this experience finds help and comfort, having joined this group. Thank you, again. Hope you are doing ok, now, too
I think it's great if you can carry on as normal, which is certainly what I tried to do.
My treatment finished a couple of years ago and everything's fine so far.
