I hope everyone is keeping well the best they can. Recently diagnosed stage 4 lung cancer adenocarcinoma (spread to bone). Started with a mild cough. Age 46. Recently disclosed to family my condition. It’s only really hit home with devasted parents and realisation that I won’t be growing old with wife and family. Feelings of sadness.
needed to vent somewhere other than the wife who is already stressed.
Hi Mike263379a9  I am sorry to hear about recent diagnosis. It’s so scary isn’t it! Like yourself, I was diagnosed at a young age. I was 39 when I was first diagnosed with a very rare sarcoma, which unfortunately came back in my lungs when I was 44. At that time I was told I had 6 months to live, and as a single mum at that time, my whole world fell apart. I had lost my mum exactly one year before, so my dad didn’t cope well with the news. Thankfully after surgery, radiotherapy and hormone treatment I am still here 11 years later.
Lung cancer treatment has come a long way in recent years, and there are lots of new treatments available now. Come over to the Lung cancer forum and you will meet lots of people who are in a similar situation to yourself, and some like myself, who have been living relatively normal lives for many years on treatment. Just click on the link above and it will take you to the group.
I am sorry about your mom, and glad to hear you are doing well.
thank you.
