  • Hi

Just wanted to say im sorry about your diagnosis but welcome to the forum you have come to the right place. I see you have found the breast cancer forum which will be the best place to post and connect with people in the same situation as you. My cancer was different to yours but I have found my little section very helpful and supportive. Sending hugs. Xx

  • I am new to this group aswell

  • The scary thing about diagnosis - is you cannot take pain killers

  • You will always be nervous - but the Doctors and Nurses who helped me are just off the scale

  • Hi it's the fear of the unknown I think, anytime you want to chat would be good

  • Hi Jann

I am new and this is the first post. Just been diagnosed and very scared.

  • Hi  and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

I’m Anne, one of the Community Champions here on the Online Community, and it's perfectly natural to feel scared when you've first been diagnosed.

The online community is divided into different support groups where you can connect directly with others who have the same type of cancer as you. I don't know if yours is breast cancer, like the other people who have posted in this thread, but if it is clicking here will take you to the breast cancer group.

To join, just click on the link I've created and, once you've joined, you can start a new post to introduce yourself and ask any questions and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.

If you have a different type of cancer you can either let me know what it is, and I can then give you a direct link to the group, or have a look through this list to find the right one.

It would be great if you could put something about your diagnosis into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
