Hi I'm new to the forum. I have just had surgery to remove a possible melanoma and I am waiting for the results. I have had the thing on my back for well over 15 years I didn't give it any thought or have been worried about it. For some reason I asked my wife to take a photo of it I didn't like the look of it and then I spent a bit of time to search up on doctor Google and ended up after a few days going to the doctors. 3 weeks later I have had it cut out. It was about the size of a thumb nail but not raised just looked like a birthmark but It was several colours and a funny shape with blurred edges. I have been trying to keep busy with work but I am now waiting for the results and that is all I can think about.
Hi Grumps6697c69 and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.
I’m Anne, one of the Community Champions here on the Online Community, and I was diagnosed with melanoma nearly 9 years ago now. I well remember how all consuming waiting for the results felt.
The online community is divided into different support groups and I can see that you've already found and joined the melanoma group which will give you the opportunity to chat to others, like me, who have been where you are now.
When you're ready you can start a new post there in the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.
