Hi I am 72 years old and have just been diagnosed with this.  I had my first appointment yesterday and I am now waiting for MRI, which I am terrified of having.  I am in total shock and very scared.  I know there will be many others out there in my situation and look forward to hearing from some of you.  I dont have many female friends and even though my husband is very caring its difficult for him to fully understand.

  • Hi

Welcome to the forums although im sorry you have found yourself here. The forums are split into different cancer types, I have put a link below if you click on it and join and post there you will be able to chat with people in the same situation as you.

     Womb (uterus) cancer forum

I don't know what part of the country you are in but most places have cancer charitys where you could get some in person support if you feel that would help you. My local area has quite a few the main one being called the big c. Ive also heard a lot of people on here talk about one called maggies which seems to be quite wide spread.

Your feelings at the moment are completely understandable but please don't worry about your mri the staff will talk you through everything and put you at ease.

I hope everything works out for you. Sending hugs. Xx

  • Thank you so much I will take a look. Wasn't sure where to post I just have to get used to the site.  Thanks also for reassurance about the MRI

  • You are welcome. If you have never had an mri before basically you just lay down, my hospital give you ear plugs with headphones playing music as the scan can be noisy ( i would assume its the same everywhere ). My last one was 45 minutes long and I fell asleep. Xx

  • Mine is tomorrow but i have told I will go in feet first so I may be ok

  • Good luck tomorrow, you will be fine. Xx
