Hi all, as a newbie I thought I’d better (briefly) introduce myself… I was diagnosed with rectal cancer in January after a brief chat with a lovely lady on the bowel screening helpline. Six weeks later, after a colonoscopy, CT and MRI scans I was referred for five days radiotherapy followed by an abdominal perineal resection at the end of March. I can now no longer be accused of talking out of my arse. Fabulous service from my local NHS and the Rosemere Centre, I really can’t thank them enough for their warmth, friendly and professional approach. Now on the mend but get a bit down in the dumps now and then… a quick weep sometimes helps. Anyway, that’s enough for now, 2 year old grandson due any minute… now, where’s the jelly babies? Nigel, just turned 71, married to Jen for the past 37 years.
Welcome to the forums although im sorry you have found yourself here. I'm liking your screen name. I have put a link below for the section for your cancer type, if you post there you will be able to chat with people who have had or have the same cancer as you. Sending hugs. Xx
