Hi Gymgoer
Welcome to the Online Community.
I am sorry to hear that your consultant has told you that you have cancer and will need further surgery and chemo. I understand that it may feel a scary time and one where you have lots of questions.
I am not sure what biopsies that you have had but after surgery anything removed would be sent to pathology and it may be that is where the diagnosis has come from. It is hard to know without a bit more info.
Because you have had a referral to gynae oncology it perhaps suggests that the consultant feels that the cancer may have began in the fallopian tubes/ovaries.
I will pop a link to the Ovarian group as it may be helpful to share experiences with ladies who have been through similar.

My own cancer was endometrial (womb) and for most gynae cancers the surgery offered is normally a hysterectomy. Mine was in 2022. I also had chemotherapy after my surgery to mop up any stray cells that might have been left.
My first appointment with the gynae oncologist was to go through medical history, the diagnosis and to talk about the treatment plan. Also what my wishes were. My first appointment was to discuss surgery. I had a hysterectomy which may possibly be the surgery you could be offered. Later on I had a chemotherapy appointment with a chemo consultant. Finally I saw the radiotherapy consultant. These were at the beginning of each treatment.
I hope that your appointment goes well on the 17th but in the meantime we are here if you need us. We do have the Support Line available from 8am-8pm daily if you feel talking things through would help.

Hi Jane thank you for your reply and for sharing your journey too
it’s just the wait for the 17th, my consultant basically told me the day after my bilateral salpingectomy so I’m presuming what he removed looked cancerous as he can’t have had results in 12hrs xx
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
