Hi all, I've been diagnosed with protate cancer, i began taking hormone tablets today and will begin radio therapy in October.

We are due to go on holiday in 10 days time so I rang the travel insurance compan to update my policy which they duly cancelled.

Does anyone know of a reputable company for travel insurance?

Best regards.

  • Hi  and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

I’m Anne, one of the Community Champions here on the Online Community, and having had two cancer diagnoses I know how tricky getting travel insurance can be.

The online community is divided into different support groups so I'm going to recommend that you join us over in the travel insurance group where you'll find lots of recommendations for travel insurers to try.

To join, just click on the link I've created and, once you've joined have a look through the threads there called 'Recommended Travel Insurance' and Recommended travel insurance 2023-24', which you'll find on the first page. They are full of recommendations from other cancer patients who have got travel insurance.

In the past I've used payingtoomuch.com and goodtogoinsurance.com

  • Hello

Another warm welcome to the Macmillan Online Community from me  - I am Brian another of the Community Champions here at Macmillan, I also have prostate cancer.

I found that with Prostate Cancer your premiums can be quite expensive until after you have completed your radiotherapy - i used "insurance with" for my worldwide policy and they were great.

On the Community we have a group for people with a Prostate Cancer diagnosis - why not come and join us? Here's the link you need:

    Prostate cancer forum

Once you click on the link and the page opens up, just click on "join" on the black banner at the bottom of the page. You can then introduce yourself to the group in the "New Here - Say Hello" section. We are a decent bunch and happy to help with any questions you may have from our shared journeys.

    Best wishes - Brian.
