Hi I'm a 27 year old mum of a 2 year old since having my child I believe that I have / and still am suffering from health anxiety. I have always been a worrier however since becoming a mum I'm 10x worse .

I've recently had blood in my stool that is bright red and absolutely been panicking that I have bowel cancer , I've been in a lot of pain with my belly and most time its a sharp pain I went to the doctors yesterday who gave me an exam and felt confident that nothing was showing to bowel cancer she told me it could be inflammation

However today I've come out in red dots like pin size on my right arm a little bit of a red bruise and I'm panicking that I have cancer

  • When googling the pin dots and bruising it is coming up with cancer especially if you've been bleeding and sharp stomach pains and I can't help but worry so much

  • Hi  and welcome to the community.

You did the right thing in going to see your Doctor and it’s encouraging that they checked you over and they felt confident that you don’t have bowel cancer…..

I have been on my cancer journey for over 25 years and the one thing I learned was trust my GP and defiantly not to put my trust in the many things you find on Google.

I know from experience that skin issues can be caused by stress…… you need to continue to monitor what is going on, keep a health diary and get back to your GP if anything new appears

The Macmillan Support Line is open between 8am-8pm (timings may differ across services) 7 days a week on 0808 808 00 00…… this service provides cancer information, practical information, emotional support or just a listening ear.
