Hi, I’ve had my smear results come back as positive and need to have colposcopy next week and it says with treatment. When I’ve looked on my NHS account (wish I hadn’t) it says Glandular neoplasia of an endocervical nature and positive LBC SNOMED CODE CX: TEA559.M81403. Please can you tell me what this means I’m sick with worry. I’m 39 and had spotting for a month that has now stopped after period came. Should I be prepared for the worst? What should I expect at my appointment. Thank you so much.
Hi Tracy3210
Welcome to the Online Community.
I am sorry to hear that your cervical screening has come back needing further investigation. I can understand it is worrying to read the medical terminology in the NHS account, without having someone to explain what it means.
We are not medically trained on here and can only talk through our own experiences. However can I suggest that you give the Support Line a call and talk to one of the nurses. They would have the medical knowledge to explain it to you. The Support Line is available from 8am-8pm daily- including tomorrow. The number is below.
The other thing you could do is have a look at the Cervical Cancer forum where there may be ladies who would have had a similar experience with having a colposcopy. I will pop a link in case you think it would help.
