Hi,
looking to connect and share experiences with those who’s Mum is dealing with Cancer and is facing the start of treatment.
My Mum has stage 1 lung cancer in her lower right lobe and has been advised she will need x3 sessions of chemo & immunotherapy mixed (She will be reviewed after two) and then on to surgery to remove - is anyone else in the same boat?
I understand the reasoning for treatment but I’m also so scared after hearing the side effects of treatment at her first oncology appointment. My head knows and understands that we are hoping to head for a ‘curative outcome’ but my heart is panicking about the risks and watching her potentially be very unwell. My Mum is my best friend and just wish this was a bad dream.
Hi Sarpi and welcome to the community although sorry to hear about your mother's diagnosis. The community is split in to various groups and you may find it helpful to join the Family and Friends group where you can connect to others in the same situation. For information on treatment you may also like to post in the Lung Group where you will find others going through the same treatment. Best wishes.
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
