Not sure how to start
Hi Carrie
Welcome to the Online Community.
I am sorry to hear that you have endometrial cancer and that it is considered incurable. It can be difficult to know what to say on your first post- so do not worry about not knowing where to start. We are here when you need us.
My own endometrial cancer was diagnosed in 2022 and I am one of the Community Champions that are normally found on the Womb group.
The online community is divided into forums representing cancer types and experiences and it may help to have a look at these links. I found that it helped to share with people who were going through similar experiences.

Having cancer can feel overwhelming at times and I can recommend giving the Support Line a call if you feel like talking things over would help. They are there from 8am-8pm daily.
I will look out for you in the Womb forum and am here if there is anything you need or want to ask about.

Hi. My mum was diagnosed with endometrial cancer in December. She is 84. After the way she was treated by one of the doctors trying to get a biopsy, she decided not to have treatment evethough this would be the end. So far she seems well in herself but lately she has been having attacks of diarrhoea. She phoned the local hospice for advice but was told that she had been deregistered?
Now she thinks she must be ok. She won't phone the doctors to discuss what's happening.
I can't find anyone to discuss this with away from my mum as I thought the local hospice would help.
How long has she got? Has the. Cancer spread and where to?
To make matters worse my dad has dementia and lives with her at home. We promised him he wouldn't go into a care home. He has a urostomy which we change every other day. I'm going to need someone to help with dad if mum gets worse. My twin sister used to be his carer but she died 4 years ago.
I just need to find out what time she has left and when she is going to need hospice care?
Hi Carrie,
Am sorry to hear that it is Mum has the cancer. I am glad you have reached out to us.
Would Mum let you contact the doctor on her behalf- even to discuss the current diarrhoea? Have you got any letters from the hospital with contact details for a Cancer Nurse Specialist/phone number/email. The questions that you ask about the cancer can only really be answered by the doctor/hospital. If Mum is not keen on discussing this with a doctor- I wonder if she would speak to one of the district nurses about it. I remember one coming out to speak with my Dad when he was poorly and he accepted this better.
When I had my diagnosis of cancer I was given a grade of cancer (type of cancer and how it behaves) and also a stage of cancer (where it is in the body/had it spread) and these are the things that would determine a prognosis. I opted for treatment which gave me a better prognosis. Cancer can progress at different rates and there are so many different factors that can affect how long someone has.
I have put some links below to give you some info that may help, however I would suggest that you call the Support Line and talk all this through with one of the nurses. They can look to see what support there is where you live. They could also look to see what palliative care options may be around your area.
