Before my diagnosis, I had applied to stable part time and full time jobs in Ireland and I have been searching and interviewing all year. I have just casual employment at the moment, which is easy to reschedule but it doesn't pay anything much at all. So what do I do if I am successful at an interview before my treatment starts? Will I be able to work the days between treatments at all? I have never had cancer before so I am unsure what to expect. My new doctors only asked me if I had work and I told them that yes I Have casual work. They said not a thing after that.
Hi again KotC_Gorey …… I have put up a reply to your first post so do follow the link I have highlighted.
You say in your other post you are stage 1 DLBCL so there is a good chance that you may be put on what is called Active Monitoring (Watch and Wait) ……. yes no treatment!!!!!
I was basically like this for the first 14 years of my diagnosis and continued to work in education on a full timetable before I eventually needed full on treatment.
You are going to have to wait and see what you clinical team plan.
Do join and put up a post in the Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma group where you can connect with others who have navigated the same journey,
Hi Again Mike,
No, they are going to start treatment on July. I was told they are doing R-CHOP. The type that I have, high grade DLBCL, always has to have treatment. So that is already planned. Once I have the PET Scan, I will have a consult at the end of this month and they will tell me when they will start treatment. They told me I will have 3-4 cycles of R-CHOP. They don't want the cancer to come back.
I have put some information up on the post you have just put up in the Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma group.
