Hello,
I’ve recently been diagnosed with breast cancer, I’m currently waiting for the appointments leading up to chemotherapy. I’m not new to cancer as I’ve had 2 early stage melanomas and lots of my close family members have had cancer too. I’m not entirely sure how I’m feeling right now but I am feeling very loved by those closest to me so I thought I’d reach out and say hello to everyone.
take care

I'm in a similar situation. I've been told it's cancer but awaiting my appointment on Wednesday to know what type and the treatment plan. I'm feeling very up and down but like you, lifted by the love of family and friends. (just the very few I've told so far) Experience of other family members going through cancer treatments but this is a very scary first for me. Some great advice I had yesterday was not to let my thoughts and fears race off too far ahead, try to keep focussed on today and each step as I come to it.
Breast cancer, like you Sarah. Sending kind thoughts.
Hi sorry you have had that diagnosis, I was diagnosed the end of march and after all my tests it’s my first chemo tomorrow…it’s natural how you are feeling I was a mess and couldn’t believe it all , hope you get your tests real soon .. Polly
Hello Polly.
It's a huge shock isn't it.
Will think of you tomorrow on your first chemo. Hope it all goes smoothly for you.
Thankyou for the advice and hope it goes as well as possible on Wednesday, I've got HER2 negative and positive cancers in same breast and it's chemo before surgery and medication.
Take care
Sarah
Hope it all goes ok today for you. I'm sure the first one is the scariest but you'll be ok.
Hi Sarah and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.
I’m Anne, one of the Community Champions here on the Online Community, and I was also diagnosed with melanoma and then breast cancer.
The online community is divided into different support groups so I'm going to recommend that you join the breast cancer group, which is a great place to ask questions, share experiences and get support.
To join, just click on the link I've created and, once you've joined, you can start a new post in the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.
It would be great if you could put something about your diagnosis and proposed treatment into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
Afternoon had my EC chemo today , wow feeling so tired and bit dizzy it that normal n… Polly xx
Oh well done. I'm sorry you're feeling like that, not nice. I hope you can have a quiet evening, get a good sleep tonight and feel much better tomorrow.
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
