Hello I’m new to this group my husband has stage 3 melanoma and has had 13 lymph nodes taken from his groin , he’s due to start immunotherapy next week 9 sessions over 12 months , any advice as to how I can help him on his immunotherapy journey to keep him as healthy as I can ? Tia
Hi Adp and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.
I was diagnosed with melanoma nearly 9 years ago now but didn't have immunotherapy so can't share any experiences with you. However, the online community is divided into different support groups and I can see that you've already found and joined the melanoma group.
When you feel ready please post your question there, in the same way as you did here, as you'll find lots of people who are having immunotherapy.
It would be great if you could put something about your husband's diagnosis and proposed treatment into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
Hello
Like your husband, I had stage 3B melanoma in my groin. 9 lymph nodes removed and cancer free. Have now had 7 Pembrolizumab immunotherapy treatments with minor side effects ie. acne like spots, rash, pigmentation changes ( white blotches). No sickness, no fatigue, perfect health. No complaints.
NB. Walking and staying fit helps.
I'm in perfect health and remain completely positive. People ask me how I am and I’ve no idea why they are asking, such is my mindset!!
Wish your hubby all the best from me. All being well. He’ll have no bother. The support system in place is second to none.
Hi Grannyrose and a very warm welcome to the online community to you too.
I can see that you've replied to various posts within the community but not yet joined a group. You might like to join us over in the melanoma group as you can then share your experience with others who are looking to connect with someone to talk about immunotherapy.
If you'd like to join, just click on the link I've created and, once you've joined, you can start a new post to introduce yourself.

Focus on good nutrition, hydration, and rest. Watch for side effects like fatigue or skin issues and report them quickly. Encourage light activity if possible and help him avoid infections by practicing good hygiene.
Thank you at the moment he’s just got fatigue and a bit of nausea , I hope your journey continues to treat you well
