Hello
I am in the process of deciding which way to treat my prostrate cancer. i have the chance of surgery, and hormone / radiotherapy, but i am confused as i thought the surgeon would have said which treatment is the best for me. i have a appointment with the oncologist in the next 3 weeks. is it better for it to be removed, i have been told both treatments have the same result ?
Hello Maltby
A warm welcome to the Macmillan Online Community - although I am so sorry to find you here under these circumstances. I am Brian one of the Community Champions here on the Community - I am also in the 4th year of my personal Prostate Cancer journey.
The Community is divided into cancer specific groups or chat rooms and I would advise you to join us on the Prostate Group where you will "meet" people on the same or similar journey - you can also pose your question to the group. Here's the link you need:
Once you click on the link I have provided and the page opens up, click on "join" on the black banner at the bottom of the page. Once you have joined our group you can either copy and paste or repost your original post in the "New Here - Say Hello" section - You are assured of a warm welcome and plenty of replies.
I look forward to "meeting" you again in "our" part of the Community.
Best wishes - Brian.
