Dad's prostate cancer

Hello All

I am lookig for some advice on what might be going on with my dad. He is in his 80s and has had prostate cancer for around 8 years. He is exceptionally private and won't share what's going on - I think he thinks he's protecting me but I just feel like I'm groping in the dark. He has recently had severe knee and shoulder pain. He said he was given an MRI and that there are 'bone fragments' in his knee. He says the shoulder pain is a trapped nerve. He is increasingly tired all the time but unable to sleep at night, and is currently undergoing injections into his abdomen 'for the pain in his shoulder' - he said he didn't think they'd work but is surprised they have eased the pain. I don't think you get injections into your abdomen for a trapped nerve...I think his cancer has metastasised but isn't telling me and that his injections may be hormone therapy. I know nobody can give me defintitve answers but some idea of what's happeneing would be helpful. Thank you.

Bxxx
