Hi all,
I'm new to these forums I was diagnosed back on 27Jan 25 with Stage 2b Triple Negative Breast Cancer. I have the BRCA1 gene which I had known about since I was 18 (now 33).
It's taken me a while to realise that it might be good to join a forum so I can find other people's stories, I've so far had 11 weeks of Paclitaxol and 10 weeks of Carboplatin along with 3 weekly Immunotherapy. They had to stop my Carboplatin for the last 2 weeks as I ended up going into anaphylaxtic shock. In 3 weeks time I'll be changing to EC and immunotherapy every 3 weeks and I am terrified at what side effects may happen.
The docs haven't really spoken to me much about the surgery but I do know that even though my cancer is in the left breast they are most likely going to push for a double mastectomy due to the BRCA1 gene. Not sure how I feel about all this I'm not the smallest in the boon department and I know whatever surgery I have it is going to be a big old adjustment.
My partner though has been absolutely great throughout all of this, we are hoping to go on holiday next year so fingers crossed I get through the rest of treatment and surgery with no need for anything more after!
Hi TrickeryCleric92 and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.
I’m Anne, one of the Community Champions here on the Online Community and I was diagnosed with TNBC in April 2022 and had a lumpectomy followed by chemotherapy (EC and paclitaxel) and radiotherapy.
The online community is divided into different support groups and I can see that you've already found and joined the TNBC group, which is a great place to ask questions, share experiences and get support.
When you feel ready you can start a new post there to introduce yourself in the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.
It would be great if you could put something about your diagnosis and proposed treatment into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
