Hi, new to this but wondered if anyone has advice on back to work protocols.
I have worked all the way through my diagnosis and surgery but from home and now work want me to return to the office 5 days a week, in 2 weeks time. I do not feel up to doing this, mindet, stamina etc and wondered if anyone else here has come up against this and can give me some advise.
Thank you
Hi Boggie and welcome to the community….
I worked through my first 12 years treatments (1999 to 2011) but was retired before my 2 years full on treatments kicked off (Late 2013 to Late 2015) so I don’t have any relevant experience to help you out
But you can call the Macmillan Support Line open between 8am-8pm (timings may differ across services) 7 days a week on 0808 808 00 00…… this service provides practical information, benefits/financial/work guidance or just a listening ear.
Talking with people who navigated the same journey can help a lot…..
The Community is actually divided into dedicated Cancer Support Groups (Discussion Rooms)………… but you don’t say what type of cancer you have If you care to have a look through this link Cancer Specific Groups you will find all our dedicated cancer support groups listed.
These groups are safe places to talk to others who may have a similar diagnosis, treatment experience, to ask questions and get support from members who are navigating the exact same journey.
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
