My husband who is 59 is being held investigated for prostrate cancer, initially 7/8 weeks ago no symptoms or signs just a routine blood test that indicated a psa of 9.2, the second test indicated 10.6 and more recently 11.2, so he was referred for an mri the results came back 4,5 and 5, in between time for the last 3 weeks he has been getting increasing back ache and feeling sick, he has a biopsy booked for this week.

Unfortunately we decided to ask Mr Google to help us gain some reassurance which has had a detrimental impact on us both (we haven’t told our children or wider family yet) we are now completely and utterly convinced that he had terminal prostrate cancer, our days are spent crying and hiding from our children, I so want to be wrong but we just can’t shake the feeling, please can anyone help, I know that each person is different but his gut feeling is never wrong x

  • Hello

A warm welcome to the Macmillan Online Community although I am so sorry to find you here. I am Brian one of the Community Champions here at Macmillan and yes - I have Prostate Cancer.

I see you have already found and joined the Prostate Group. Why not introduce yourself by either reposting or copying and pasting this post in the "New Here - Say Hello" section there and you will get some honest advice from people who have "been there - done that". We know the facts about Prostate Cancer - try to stay away from "Dr Google".

    Best wishes - Brian.
