No communication from hospital!!

I’ve just joined MCS - thank you for letting me join!  I have no idea if I have cancer or not at this stage but the reason I’ve joined anyway, is because I’ve had zero live comms from the gynaecological-oncology department to whom I’ve been referred back in March.  Apart from one letter, written by a senior nurse conducting my biopsy saying I’ll need a full hysterectomy.  And a telephone consultation from either the mighty Consultant herself or “one of her team” scheduled for mid-June….  Meanwhile, I await an MRi that had to be put off due to me having an operation a couple of weeks ago and a CA125 blood test.
I was originally on the so/called two-week fast track thing.  The lack of communication apart from text messages has been staggering!!!   Anyone else had this?

  • Hi  so sorry to read about the communication challenges you are having…. This makes a stressful time that more stressful…… and unfortunately is happening more and more across the NHS.

I do see you have posted the same topic in our dedicated Womb (uterus) cancer and I see you have revived some reply’s.

The problem with the term ‘two-week fast track’ that is often used is that it sets a time frame in our minds….. but this term has been mostly replaced by the Faster Diagnosis Standard (FDS) of 28 days from referral to diagnosis……… but then you have to wait for treatment…… this is another challenge.

Keep pushing the system and let’s look for things to move on for you soon ((hugs))

  • Yes - thank you so much.  I think the main problem in my case, was having a random gallbladder operation in the middle of it which has thrown all the timelines out (from having an MRI arranged in 2 days then put back by several weeks due to the operation I had…).
    anyway, thanks for your support
