Hi all,
This is my first time posting to the forums, I have been undergoing Chemo since January and have found it difficult at times, it is much easier now as the treatment has become less intensive and I am hoping to find a route back to normal life in the coming months, pending a good prognosis from my Consultant.
Hi PaulIrish and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.
I’m Anne, one of the Community Champions here on the Online Community, and I went through approximately 5 months of chemo in 2022 so I can understand you wanting to get back to a more normal life once your treatment has finished.
The online community is divided into different support groups but, as you haven't said what type of cancer you're being treated for, I can't give you a direct link to connect with others who have the same type of cancer as you.
If you are happy to tell me what type of cancer you have I can supply you with a link. Alternatively you could look through this list and choose the group appropriate to you. Once you've joined a group, you can start a new post in the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.
It would be great if you could put something about your diagnosis and treatment into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
Hi Anne,
Thanks for your message, I have germ cell cancer, primary testicular that has spread to the lymph nodes and have some in a bone.
I am a bit confused which type I have.
Regards,
Paul
Hi PaulIrish
I can see that since I originally replied to you, you have found and joined the testicular cancer group. You mention that the cancer has spread to your lymph nodes and bones so you could also join the secondary lymph node and secondary bone cancer groups too.
If this is something that you'd like to do, clicking on the links I've created will take you straight there.
Anne
