Hello everyone. I was diagnosed with breast cancer last year and have since gone through 13 rounds of chemo, a mastectomy in November 2024 and 15 rounds off radiotherapy in February. I've tried to work as much as possible throughout by choice. I live on my own and my siblings and dad have been fantastic but I felt I wanted something else to focus on apart from cancer.
I'm a year on now and feel I should be starting to feel better but I feel terrible, even though technically I'm cancer free. I'm suffering from some horrible side effects. I don't want to burden my friends and family any more than I already have but I just feel so rubbish and I'm hoping you might have some helpful advice.
Hi Sterling and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.
I’m Anne, one of the Community Champions here on the Online Community and I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2022 but, fortunately, haven't suffered from side effects from my treatment.
The online community is divided into different support groups and I can see you've already found and joined the breast cancer group, which is a great place to ask questions, share experiences and get support.
Once you feel ready to post there, you can start a new post in the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
