Hi everyone,
I’ve recently (2nd April 2025) been diagnosed with stage 4 bowel cancer, its spread to my lungs and liver and I just don’t know how to cope with this news. I have an oncology appointment next week to discuss treatment options but have been told this is not curable.
Everyone keeps telling me to stay positive but I feel really ill at the moment, I certainly don’t feel strong enough for chemo etc. I’ve lost a lot of weight and I am struggling to maintain as I have no appetite. I’m currently in a position where my day consists of forcing meds, shakes and food in my mouth and being in pain. I feel so weak and low, I just don’t know how to get out of this.
I have the full support of my husband, family and friends etc. it’s taking such a toll on my husband though, he is barley coping and I don’t know what to do.
Hi Feelingscared and a very warm welcome to the Macmillan Community but sorry to hear about your diagnosis.
Navigating a cancer journey can be such a stressful and challenging time but getting support from people who have walked or are walking the ‘exact same' journey can help a lot. (I have lived with and been treated for completely different incurable cancer fir the past 24+ years)
The Community is actually divided into dedicated Support Groups (Discussion Rooms) so can I recommend that you look to join and put up your own post in our dedicated…….
