Hi,

I've looked at writing on here several times in the past but never quite hit the 'post' button. I was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer, choriocarcinoma that results from pregnancy 2 years ago. It's a very curable disease in the most part, but I've now relapsed and am in the niche of the niche with this! I can't see any other threads about it so am wondering if there are any pointers as to how to find anyone else going through this?

I have 2 young boys who keep me and my husband on our toes but I'm worried that the ongoing presence of this disease will affect them at some point as they grow up. I had chemo 2 days ago and my energy still hasnt come back yet and I feel bad that they see me like this but I can't seem to find the energy to be 'normal' in front of them.

Any advice gratefully received

x

  • Hi  and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

I’m sorry to read that you've recently relapsed and can understand you wanting to connect with others with this type of rare cancer.

The online community is divided into different support groups so I'm going to recommend that you join the other rare cancers group, where you may find others with choriocarcinoma to share experiences with and get support.

To join, just click on the link I've created and, once you've joined, you can start a new post in the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.

It would be great if you could put something about your diagnosis and treatment into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
