Hi, not sure how to write this, as it doesn’t seem real!

It All started with a visit to the GP on the 3/4/25 with a rash on my chest, GP check my breasts and sent a referral over to the breast clinic. Later that day I got an appointment for the 9/4/25, off I went to the clinic and had my first mammogram and then had to go back in for another one and then an ultrasound which DR H. Found a legion in my left breast and lots of calcium build up. So I ended up having two biopsy that day. I’d already convinced myself the outcome wasn’t going to be good.

I was booked in for May for the results, but I got a phone call from the clinic on the 16/4/25 asking me to attend the next day. So off I went on the 17/4/25 at 09:30am with my husband. Got called in and was told I have a grade two legion in my left breast and it’s cancer and hormones and the second biopsy I had about the calcium, they need a bigger amount, so that’s what I’m having done tomorrow 24/4/25.

I am confused about it all, the DR hasn’t told me anything just passed it over to the cancer nurse, who is amazing, has my husband started crying and she calmed him down. I haven’t show any emotions.

I don’t know what’s going to happen.

  • Hi  and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

I’m Anne, one of the Community Champions here on the Online Community and I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2022 so have a good idea how you're probably feeling right now. Once all the results are in you'll have an appointment with a breast consultant who will talk you through your various options, so not having spoken to a doctor yet isn't anything to worry about.

The online community is divided into different support groups so I'm going to recommend that you join the breast cancer group, which is a great place to ask questions, share experiences and get support.

To join, just click on the link I've created and, once you've joined, you can start a new post in the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.

It would be great if you could put something about your diagnosis and tests to date into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

  • Hi

I know exactly how you are feeling, diagnosed with breast cancer on 10/4/25. My husband also had a cry and I knew that it was going to be cancer so had already planned what to ask. I had an appointment today they still aren’t sure if it is her2 or triple negative but I am having chemo before a lumpectomy. The waiting and not knowing is very hard and every one reacts differently so there is no right or wrong way to handle it all. I would recommend getting a list of questions to ask at your next appointment and write the answers down as you may not take it all in.

  • My biopsy didn’t happen yesterday 24/4/25. When I got to my appointment, it had been cancelled and now booked in again for May 2nd. Now another week of waiting and not knowing the treatment, feeling like my life is on hold now,

  • Oh I am so sorry that it has been delayed it’s such a worrying time but try to do things you enjoy to take your mind off of it.
