  1. How have people dealt with waiting for results? I'm petrified I'm always crying. I'm not coping very well
  • Hi

This is one of the most stressful times we have to endure. I just kept busy doing the things I enjoyed, Gardening, getting out for a walk with the dog ....that sort of thing.

There was absolutely nothing I could do about it. I strongly advise you to avoid looking for answers on Google. There madness lies. I can prom use you will feel much much better once you have that diagnosis and a treatment plan in place. What department of the hospital is investigating your symptoms?

  • Morning I was exactly the same as you while I was waiting , I knew I had the cancer at my first appointment even before the biopsies were back the consultant was 99.9 sure it was but didn’t know where else it had gone I spent days crying feeling angry feeling cheeted of my life I had no knowledge of cancer even thou my mum passed away from it she never spoke about it , it was a taboo subject and from diagnosis to passing was 5 weeks so very little time was had with my loverly mum .. but I found this site and speaking to people on it helped emensly , I’m still waiting for a plan for treatment either chemo or mastectomy first and it’s driving me crazy I’m back to feeling how I did in the begining I’ve since found out it’s thankfully not travelled to anywhere else apart from my lymph nodes which is good it’s stage 2 cancer fed by estrogen and the cancer measures 6cm so they need to get a plan together … I found walking helped sitting in the garden helped I’ve stopped working for now as I work on a busy cardiology ward and need to have my full attention there and I know I haven’t at the moment … do what can be a distraction for you to take your mind away from it but please take experiences from the loverly kind people on this site they are amazing always here to chat .. • Thank you for your reply. It's been 5 months since I first went to my doctor about it. I just need some results now. Because I live in Wales but have to go to hospital in England. The waiting times for appointment seem to be a lot longer. They tell me it's urgent but they don't offer me an appointment for 2 to 3 weeks sometimes.
  • Yeah 5 months is a very long time I’ve been luckily on that respect that I have had all my tests results now a plan since 31st march , you need to really chase up the doctors or whoever needs to be accountable for your care … if they suspect cancer there needs to be a two week window with it all , I’m guessing you’ve had tests done already ..
