Hi Winter girl and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.
The online community is divided into different support groups where you can ask questions, share experiences and get support. To join one of the groups you can either look through this list and select the relevant cancer type, or tell me what type of cancer you're being tested for and I'll give you a direct link to the group.
Once you've joined a group, you can start a new post in the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.
I hope that helps with how the community works.
My grandmother and my aunt and my mum all died of breast cancer. My sister has had breast cancer twice and is currently going through chemo again. I discovered a very large lump on the side of my neck. I've had various biopsies camera down my throat and MRIs ultrasounds. After that it was supposed to be beginning just my results but two days after my MRI I had to call thing I needed to urgently come back for ultrasound. Guy did biopsy which I've had done now and there actually isn't the big lump on the side of my neck. It's a thought it's something to do with my thyroid and the nodules. I'm petrified
Thank you. Obviously a lot of it is the fear of just not quite knowing what's happening because they really don't give you any information. It's just been a real wake up call. I cannot stop crying and in all my years have never ever felt fear like this and just not coping
I understand what you mean I was diagnosed a couple of weeks ago with breast cancer and lymph node I’ve got appointment tomorrow which I’m hoping will have a plan they have told me it’s not gone anywhere else which is piece of mind…while I was waiting for scans and stuff I joined this site , honestly I cry most days I suffer with my mental health anyway which don’t help yes the not knowing brings lots of fears into your mind.. polly x
It's natural to be scared Winter girl but hopefully you'll find this site very supportive. I've had 2 different cancer diagnoses and the community here has been invaluable.
As your team think the lump is connected with your thyroid this is the link to the thyroid cancer group. Hopefully, it'll turn out to be benign but I'm sure you'll get lots of support from the members of that group while you're waiting for your results.
((hugs))
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
