Hello, I’m new here and thought I’d pop on as am struggling a bit atm.
So I was diagnosed in early Feb 2025 with grade 1 bc, USS looked clear & so scheduled for mastectomy and sentinel biopsy as my growth was approx. 3.5 x 4.5. I suffered huge anxiety from diagnosis to surgery. Lost sleep, had an irritable bladder, felt nauseous, cried & felt helpless. It was rough! I’m usually a pretty positive happy person, but have had anxiety bouts in the past. Had the surgery, was told that biopsies were clear and mastectomy and reconstruction went well. Managed to recover well at home. First week with drain, restricted to movement upstairs as I was bodily exhausted, this got easier as the weeks went on & I was concentrating on getting back to normal. Walking out for longer periods of time etc. Mentally ok. Sleeping ok, albeit on my back which isn’t ideal for me as I’m a stomach sleeper, but managed with lots of pillows!
I'm now almost 6 weeks post & the anxiety is back. Every little twinge I’m overthinking, my bladder irritability is back, feeling like I need to go to the toilet, but no other infection type symptoms, I had a odd feeling on my right side (upper) like there’s something there, aching in my legs & twinges above my implant like sharp shooting. Has anyone else experienced these things?
I had a few nights I can’t sleep properly. Everyone tells me everything is fine & it’s anxiety, but I’m convincing myself that something is wrong.

  • Hi  and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

It would be great if you could put something about your diagnosis and treatment into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'.
