I last used the MacMillan online forum 15 years ago when I was caring for my father who had terminal cancer. I’ve returned because I’m now caring for my husband who has bladder cancer with secondary tumours now in his lungs. We’ve been through a lot since the first diagnosis in 2021: he had a kidney removed, a number of interventions to remove tumours from his bladder, then surgery to remove his bladder & prostate. Once we’d learnt to manage his ureterostomy things went well for a while, then his remaining kidney started to fail & the lung tumours were found. He’s had chemotherapy & has just started immunotherapy. We live in Spain & I speak better Spanish than him so I do a lot of interpreting. We’re lucky to have been given a home carer for 2.5 hours a day & the local cancer association offers counselling & other support. But it still feels difficult at times & I find the responsibilities tough going. There’s a lot of different forums, so an idea of which ones to use would be useful!
