Hi new here, the past 5 weeks I've had constant pain mainly right sided (similar to period pain, mixed with trapped wind) I thought it was maybe something I ate or even constipation as I do get this often, but the pain continued so I started to think how I've been lately & realised I actually havnt been eating that well either as I get nauseous, but put that down coming to the end of perimenopause along with 2 periods a month...its just what you expect when coming upto 50th. So anyway I started to feel not right so went to walk in thinking it's a uti he done urine dip but nothing to prove it was but gave my antibiotics anyway...I got to 5th day of taking them & I was still the same with pain, I rang the chemist for advice they sent me to dr she thought it was appendicitis so sent to hospital but it wasn't which I sort of knew as would of been a lot worse. Pain continued bladder right side belly button appendix area, hip, back, top of thigh and pressure in my back. I was struggling lots to empty bowels so back to drs she thought constipation so gave me meds 5 days later still the same constant pain with bouts of worsening pain and only peeing 2/3 times a day now but peeing a big amount when I did. I ended up back to hospital on Friday as the pain was horrendous they got me seen by gynaecologist he did internal took swabs (I've been sexually inactive for 8 years) gave me oramorph and told me I would get a scan within 72 hours. I'm thinking maybe a cyst as I havnt got the frequent urinating or bloating, but wondering is it still possible that it still might be cancer, I'm not too worried as I feel you would go insane if u constantly tried to predict the outcome, still in pain but hot water bottle helps with coedine. I've also been getting clear jelly discharge with streaks of blood at times. Anyone else have similar symptoms and it turned out to be just a cyst?
Hi Jayej and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.
I’m Anne, one of the Community Champions here on the Online Community, and although I didn't have the same symptoms as you I know how worrying waiting for a diagnosis can be.
The online community is divided into different support groups and I can see that you've joined both the ovarian and womb cancer groups, both of which are great places to ask questions, share experiences and get support.
When you feel ready you can start a new post in those groups in the same way as you did here to directly connect with others who may have had the same or similar symptoms to yourself.
It would be great if you could put something about your symptoms, along with tests you've had and are waiting for, into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
