Hi everyone,

After undergoing blood tests with my GP he has prescribed me Folic Acid and Vitamin D tablets but did not say why.  I have done a little online research and its freaked me out a little - is this a common prescription or an underlying condition maybe?  I am relatively healthy and on no other medication/disease management, etc.  He also proscribed me Statins as my cholesterol but a little up.

Thanks for your support guys

  • Hi  and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

The online community is divided into different support groups so the best place to post your question would be in the relevant cancer support group. As you haven't said what type of cancer you're being treated for, unfortunately I can't provide you with a direct link to that group. You could either let me know, and I'll provide the link, or look through this list.

Once you've joined, you can start a new post in the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.

It would be great if you could put something about your diagnosis and treatment to date into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
