Hi am new.
Hello community. I am supporting my husband with advanced bowel cancer.
His prognosis is terminal. Both of us are struggling emotionally. It seems to be all appointments and delays with the cancer spreading to other areas pf his body.
Nothing prepares the cancer sufferer and the carer.
The carer seems to lack support.....emotional support. We take all the sufferers frustration and anger, but we have no one to talk to.
We seem to be left to deal with everything.
It's not good.
Hi Schurtz
Welcome to our community, I hope you find it both supportive and informative.
I am Steve one of the community champions and my experience with cancer is through my wife who has Leiomyosarcoma.
The new to the community group is sort of like a front door to the community, you may find the Bowel (colon and rectal) cancer forum helpful in terms of details of your husbands particular cancer and in terms of emotional support you might find the Emotional support forum useful as well as more focused on you our Carers only forum and Family and friends forum
Outside the community you would be of course welcome to use the helpline and you might also consider getting some support from a Macmillan buddy
I also found really good support from my local Maggies centre
<<hugs>>
Steve
