Hi,
How long should Diarrhoea last as part of the side effects from Chemotherapy?
Hi Sussex
I think you probably meant to post this question in the breast cancer group, where I can see you've posted before. Clicking on the link I've created will take you straight back there.
I didn't have diarrhoea while having chemotherapy but everyone's side effects are different. If you haven't already, it might be a good idea to phone your chemo hotline number as they can prescribe drugs to help.
Clicking here will take you to information about side effects while on chemotherapy including this information on when you should contact your hospital:

Hiya, I'm sorry to hear you have been struggling with this unpleasant side effect. I have struggled really badly with diarrhoea throughout all my chemo cycles. It was so bad the first time (more than 10 times and even water was passing straight through me), I ended up being admitted into hospital for a few days. Mine normally starts on day 4 post chemo and lasts until day 15. It's a rotten time but has been made more manageable by reducing the strength of the chemo meds, taking less steroids and taking loperamide with lucozade!. Maybe think about discussing how to manage it with your nurse and / or consultant?
