Hi, last Monday I went to the Dr with a solid lump in my scrotum. I was referred for urgent ultrasound. The following Friday I was back at the Dr with pain in lower back and stomach. Bloods were taken and showed no infection.

Monday this week I had my ultrasound and the sonography said the testicle was clear and I didn’t have anything to worry about.

Yesterday I noticed a small hard lump in my groin area, not painful to touch and maybe the size of a kidney bean.

i am still waiting for my actual ultrasound report but should I inform the Dr about the groin lump or am I jumping to the worst possible conclusions?

thanks for any feedback.

  • Hi  and welcome to the Macmillan Community but so sorry to hear about your ongoing diagnosis.

There is nothing wrong in calling any new symptoms in and let your Doctor make the decision if this is something that needs to followed up.

Lumps in the groin area can be caused by main things not just by cancer.

Navigating the cancer diagnosis journey can be such a stressful and challenging time but getting support from others who are dealing with the ‘exact same' cancer type can help a lot.

This New to Community area is like our reception desk where we look to direct you to the best part of the Community for you to get support.

The Community is actually divided into dedicated Cancer Support Groups (Discussion Rooms)..... so if you are eventually diagnosed with a type of cancer have a look through this link Cancer Specific Groups you will find all our dedicated cancer support groups listed.

These groups are safe places to talk to others who may have a similar diagnosis, treatment experience, to ask questions and get support from members who are navigating the exact same journey.

The Macmillan Support Line is open between 8am-8pm (timings may differ across services) 7 days a week on 0808 808 00 00…… this service provides cancer information, practical information, emotional support or just a listening ear.

I do hope you get clear answers soon but do get back to me if you need further help navigating the community.
