Hi, new to here. Don't like to consult with Dr. Google so thought it better to try a more informed place.

I'm going for an urgent scan next week due to sudden on going bleeding - so at the moment don't know what I'm dealing with.

I'm 55 - on Everol 100 HRT patches and have a mirena coil fitted - I have been healthy for the past 3 years (since starting HRT etc)  and can honestly say that this approach made a huge difference to my menopause symptoms....until now.   Bleeding that is sporadic  and ranges from light to full blown period. I know my gp has done all the right things but the anxiety is awful.  ( coil is still in place as gp checked)

I just wondered if anyone has experienced similar while on a treatment package like mine for menopause.

Thank you , take care x

  • Hi  and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

Waiting for tests and then the results can be a very anxious time but you've done the right thing in not consulting Dr Google.

The online community is divided into different support groups and I can see that you've already joined the cervical cancer group.

When you feel ready you can start a new post there in the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.

    ((hugs))

  • Hi Gladys. I’m sorry to hear you’re having a scary time. Must be really daunting but well done for going to the doctors.

I had a similar experience last year.  I have the Mirena  coil and was just about to start estrogen patches when my periods went from very light to incredibly heavy. Lost so much blood I became anemic. Had some tests done and it turned out to be a tiny fibroid in my womb.

even though it all got sorted it was a terrifying time so I can sympathise. Hope you get the reassurance that you need soon x

  • Hi - thank you for sharing your experience. I’ve struggled to read about anyone’s similar experience.  Hopefully it’s something similar - only a few more days to wait. I’m glad you are well now. Blush
