Hi everyone,
I'm new to the group.
I want to ask if anyone has a similar story.
My Friend had laryngectomy and thyroidectomy 11 years ago. He has a neck stoma, with magnetic valve inside his neck to speak. There has been no more cancer since his surgery. This year he will be travelling to Prague. This is the first time abroad since surgery. I'm wanting to ask about travel insurance. He's only away for 3 nights.
Can anyone point us in the right direction? We have googled different sights and have had different quotes, but I'm scared we will miss something in the small print.
Thank you in advance.
Hi chelle77 and a very warm welcome to the online community
Unfortunately, it can be more difficult to find travel insurance when a cancer diagnosis is involved but I can see that you've already found and joined the travel insurance forum for cancer patients group where you'll find recommendations from others who have been successful.
Can I suggest that you go to the group and look through the threads called 'Recommended Travel Insurance' and Recommended travel insurance 2023-24', which you'll find on the first page. They are full of recommendations from other cancer patients.
I hope you're able to help your friend find suitable travel insurance. As for being scared that you'll miss something in the small print, your friend needs to be completely honest about his health when he gets a quote so that, should he need to claim, they'd be no reason for the insurer to refuse.
Anne
