I have been out of hospital for 2 weeks now having had cytoreductive surgery and HIPEC. I am really struggling with the side effects of the operation and starting to feel low. I know I am on the mend but it doesn’t feel like it. I have joined this forum to get others perspective of how they have coped following surgery. I don’t know what other treatment is to come as my follow up is in 3 weeks time.

  • Hi  and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

I’m Anne, one of the Community Champions here on the Online Community and, although I wasn't diagnosed with the same type of cancer as you, I know how it feels to be trying to recover from surgery.

The online community is divided into different support groups and I can see that you've already joined and posted in the PMP group, which is a great place to ask questions, share experiences and get support.

It would be great if you could put something about your diagnosis and treatment to date into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
