Hi
newbie here, small lump found on mammogram , no symptoms and apparently only 5mm in size but deep in breast.
biopsy done results 6th March , expecting the worst.
Struggling to sleep and anxiety through the roof mum died from breast cancer however was 43 years ago., so I keep telling myself how much has changed and moved on from those brutal times.
love to you all out there xx
Hi tomps.
Everyone told me a few weeks ago that the waiting time before the results are available was the worst. It was true. I veered from one hellish scenario to another, meanwhile keeping up a brave face for my family.
However, meeting with the consultant gave me hope and there was a plan to go forward. The specialist nurses have also been a vital link for me.
I am going forward with an operation shortly and I am thankful that there has been a lot of progress with treatments etc.
Stay strong and reach out to this forum. There will always be someone here to lend support. It has been and remains a lifeline for me and many others
Sending you love and support. Take care. x
Hi tomps and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.
I’m Anne, one of the Community Champions here on the Online Community and I was diagnosed with breast cancer in April 2022 so have a good idea how scared you're probably feeling right now. However, treatment for breast cancer has come on so much since your mum sadly passed away so please try to keep focused on that.
The online community is divided into different support groups so I'm going to recommend that you join the breast cancer group, which is a great place to ask questions, share experiences and get support.
To join, just click on the link I've created and, once you've joined, you can start a new post in the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.
It would be great if you could put something about your diagnosis into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
When I was diagnosed with breast cancer I found the wait for the result was dreadful, my heart goes out to you, if you are diagnosed with cancer I would be happy to help you
I have been told I need 2 prolapses address, 2 cysts removed and a hysterectomy, the NHS want me to wait one year and that I need to have two surgeons in theatre to address all the issues, Had cancer 4 times and need to know what specialist I need to look for? We have decided to take every penny we have in our savings and pay for the treatment in private sector
Hi chrischristine and a very warm welcome to the online community and thank you for offering to share your experiences of breast cancer with tomps.
It sounds like you have a lot to contend with at the moment so I can understand you wanting to know what type of specialist you need.
You haven't said what type of cancer you need a specialist for so, unfortunately, I can't point you in the right direction to connect with others who may be able to help. You can either let me know, and I'll then give you a direct link to the group, or look through this list to choose the appropriate one.
Anne
