So today i saw the oncologist who went through all my results from all the tests they have had to do.  My ct scan came back clear.  I have been told i have stage 3 invasive carcinoma in left breat which is triple positive.  They are wanting to start me on phesgo as im her2 positive.  With abraxane and carboplatin.  Im to have 6 cycles three weekly.  Can anyone explain what three weekly means? Do i have chemo on day 1 and then nothing for the remaining 20 days or do i have once a week for 3 weeks then a week off.  Got to now have an ecg and kidney test at nuclear medicine, then hoping all fine and can get this journey started. The cancer nurse gave me a card withnumber to call if feel poorly as its important to go into hospital if temperature goes above 38 as may be due to an infection that can be deadly.  But worried as i hate to bother people and she said its not worth the risk so best to bother them and get checked out.

  • Hi

I am currently going through chemotherapy. I have had 2 rounds so far and I also like you will be having 6 rounds in total.

I am having 1 infusion intravenously of chemotherapy drugs and then no further treatment for 21 days/3 weeks, that is classed as 1 round.

Then you start the second round on day 21 another infusion.  At least that's how it works for me.

Hope it helps, if you have a telephone number for the oncology nurses you can always call them. Leave a message if it goe's to answer phone they do get back to you and are very helpful.
