Hello. I’m still quite in shock. My mam has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and has secondary tumours on her lungs. They have told us it’s not treatable and is going to be fast. She was fine a week ago until she became jaundice.
I feel in shock. We’re so close and it’s such a blow and so fast. My dad has Alzheimer’s so it’s so much to get my head round.
I’m so scared about what will happen and that me and my sisters don’t have much time to process this as well as how to support my mam who cares for my dad.

i feel like my world has been blasted apart in the last few hours.

  • Hi MeganRose85

I feel for you and you must me in terrible shock. You  have a lot going on. Please seek for help and all support you can get.  One thing i learnt that cancer does not discriminate... my daughter and husband had their owm crying moment when i was diagnosed of breast cancer...  but i had to pull myself to put a bold face.... your pain is worst....but remember you are stronger than you think.....cherish the moment you have with mam....make her feel comfortable..  all these trial and tribulations....my warm thoughts goes to you...

  • Hi  and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

I’m Anne, one of the Community Champions here on the Online Community, and I can understand how shocked and scared you're probably feeling right now.

The online community is divided into different support groups so I'm going to recommend that you join the supporting someone with incurable cancer group, where you can discuss your emotions as well as practical issues about palliative care and end of life.

To join, just click on the link I've created and, once you've joined, you can start a new post in the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.
