Hi,

I posted the other day to say I was waiting for the results of a 3rd biospsy. Unfortunately I've had a breast cancer diagnosis and though it's been found  very early I will need a masectomy then a reconstruction in the same op. Think I'm in shock x

  • I have stage 4 breast cancer that has gone into my bone. Now incurable. I have chemo every 3 weeks. I feel for you. Losing your breasts is a big deal but keeping your life is bigger. I am trying to find friends as my have disappeared as they are scared of me having cancer.

  • Hi  and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

I’m Anne, one of the Community Champions here on the Online Community and I was diagnosed with breast cancer in April 2022 so know how scared you're probably feeling right now.

The online community is divided into different support groups so I'm going to recommend that you join the breast cancer group, which is a great place to ask questions, share experiences and get support.

To join, just click on the link I've created and, once you've joined, you can start a new post in the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.

It would be great if you could put something about your diagnosis and proposed treatment into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

  • Hi  and a very warm welcome to you too.

Thanks very much for taking the time to reach out to HOI, I'm sure they'll appreciate it.

As I said to HOI, the online community is divided into different support groups so I'd like to recommend a couple for you to join. The first is the the secondary breast cancer group, which is a great place to ask questions and share experiences around treatment, etc, and the second is the living with incurable cancer group where you'll get lots of support.

To join, just click on the links I've created and, once you've joined, you can start a new post in the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.

When you feel ready, it would be great if you could put something about your diagnosis and treatment to date into your profile. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
