Hi I am new to this forum and site. I am struggling to cope with my diagnosis. Having been in remission for 3 years I was told I have incurable but treatable secondary breast cancer in my bones, and lung cancer. I won’t say any more today, but I am grateful for somewhere I don’t have to pretend and maybe not feel so lonely
Hi Lilywasmouse and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.
I’m sorry to read that you've recently been told that you have secondary breast cancer. I can only imagine what a shock that must have been.
The online community is divided into different support groups so I'm going to recommend that you join the secondary breast cancer group, which is a great place to ask questions, share experiences and get support.
To join, just click on the link I've created and, once you've joined, you can start a new post in the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.
When you feel ready, it would be great if you could put something about your diagnosis and treatment to date into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
I found this website about 12 days ago. I am awaiting results and it has been a lifeline for me. My family are loving and supportive but you still want to spare them the uncertainty and worry.
Each day has been different. Sometimes hopeful then in the depths of despair. A complete rollercoaster of emotions!
However, the opportunity to offer some comfort to others is a privilege. It has made me much more aware of the importance of human connection
Wishing everyone on this journey comfort and support. Stay strong. X
