Hi, My husband living with Liver mets for last year. He has had four different chemo regimes, all of which have had no good results. He is now referred to and has an appointment at the Beatson research hospital. We really have no idea of what if anything they may be able to offer him and therefore we have no idea of what questions we should be asking them. I am just wondering if anyone has been in this situation and can give us any info on this.

  • Hi Mya

I'm sorry about your husband. Just wanted to say welcome. This forum is split into different cancers if you find your husbands cancer and post there you will hopefully be able to get to chat with someone in the same position, they also have sections for people like yourself which you may find helpful. This is the link re your husband, hopefully I've got it right.

  • Hi  and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

I’m sorry to read that your husband's liver mets have not responded to chemo and it's natural to want to be prepared ahead of his upcoming appointment.

The online community is divided into different support groups so I'm going to recommend that you join the secondary liver cancer group, which is a great place to ask questions, share experiences and get support.

To join, just click on the link I've created and, once you've joined, you can start a new post in the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.

It would also be useful to you to join the group for whatever type of cancer your husband's primary is. You could either let me know, and I'll provide you with a link, or you could take a look through this list to choose the appropriate one.

It would be great if you could put something about your husband's diagnosis and treatment to date into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
