My daughter who has just turned 27 last week was diagnosed with stage 3 colorectal cancer.  She finished her 6 rounds of chemo on the 10th January 2025.  She had her scans to find out they saw a small spot on her liver a further MRI scan.  The 4cm tumour has shrunk slightly not enough for surgery, they also explained an enlarged lymph node.  She faces more chemo, we feel so anxious and so worried by this news.  She has a 3 year old little girl.  I just don’t know what to say I am feeling so very anxious.

  • Hi  and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

I’m Anne, one of the Community Champions here on the Online Community and, although I was the one with cancer, I  know how scared you're probably feeling right now.

The online community is divided into different support groups so I'm going to recommend that you join the bowel cancer group, which is a great place to ask questions and share experiences with others who have this type of cancer, and also the family and friends group where you can share your worries and get support.

To join, just click on the links I've created and, once you've joined, you can start a new post in the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.

It would be great if you could put something about your daughter's diagnosis and treatment to date into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
