I have been referred today to have a colonoscopy sorry if it's spelt wrong I keep crying everyone told me not to worry I thought they were it's symptoms I have had it's for years but it's felt worse last year or two I have noticed blood when I go but not loads I'm obviously thinking of the worst case scenario I'm supposed to be going on holiday in 2 weeks I'm just scared.
Welcome to our community I hope you find it both positive and supportive.
I am Steve one of the community champions and my experience with cancer is via my wife.
In cases where cancer is a possibility the doctors will usually flag the request as urgent, this is really normal. Indeed recently I had a case of a sudden rectal bleed and ended up having both an endoscopy and a colonoscopy. They found nothing of concern in my case but is was good to get things checked out.
Being scared is a perfectly normal reaction at a time like this but perhaps recognizing that can help you keep it in control and hopefully you will be able to make the most of your holiday.
<<hugs>>
Steve
