I got a diagnosis of lymphoma 3 weeks ago the ground went from under me .im having my CT scan they are doing further tests to determine what type of lymphoma it is . Any support would be so welcome.
So it's official. Met with the Consultant / team today and diagnosed with Classical Hodgkins Lymphoma. Chemo starts Monday. Being admitted for a couple of days so they can keep an eye on me post first dose.
Going through similar still waiting for results of biopsy after 10 weeks. Would be good to have someone to chat to about similar wait for diagnosis
Sure thing let me know if you have anything in particular you would like to know. Far from an expert but figuring it out as I go...
Whilst I wouldn't wish it upon anybody, it's good to know that there are people here I can share the journey with. Waiting for biopsy appointment after CT scan confirmed several clusters of very enlarged lymph nodes (6cm+) and an enlarged spleen.
Seems some biopsy results take ages to come back and some are quite quick?
So far so good. Now more waiting until Monday for the first round of chemo. They are admitting me for a couple of days to keep an eye on how I react. There is lots unfair about who ends up having to go through this but I have to say one of the biggest surprises has been the quality of care in the NHS. I was expecting to use my private health insurance (super lucky to have this as an option, and appreciate not everyone does) but given how quickly things have happened and how friendly/efficient/professional/ compassionate everyone has been I have decided to stick with the NHS.
Oh I bet you have such mixed feelings relief of finally knowing what you are facing but worry about now having to face it . Wishing you the best of luck with then chemotherapy.keep in touch with how it goes x
It's the waiting that's doing me been back n forth for scans and now biopsy for 9 months in total so far. I hope monday goes smooth as possible for you.
