Dealing with treatment

Hi,

Thank you for letting me join. I've just had a breast cancer diagnosis and booked in for a lumpectomy, I have then to go for radiotherapy and hormone therapy, however was told I wouldn't need chemo at the moment.  As this was the thing that was worrying me with being able to do things such as work, looking after my daughter etc. I'm now thinking I can carry on as normal ( I know within reason).  Am I being too optimistic? It's just i don't have any childcare and I don't want my daughter missing school, classes etc. Nor give up work which is non physical anyway.

Any thoughts are appreciated!

Thanks

Welcome to the Community. I'm Daisy53 and I'm one of the Community Champions in the breast cancer forum. Though things may change once you've had your operation you are not being too optimistic, we need to take the positives where we can once we've been diagnosed with cancer.

Wishing you the best of luck with your and hopefully you won't need chemo.

    Best wishes

    1. Thank you for your reply, I'm just a bit worried about the practical side of things like taking my daughter to and from school each day especially the day after surgery and the days of radiotherapy then how the hormone therapy will affect me.  Hopefully I will still be OK to do these things as normal. Thanks again x
