Hi RobertoM and a warm welcome to the Community although I am sorry to hear about your diagnosis.
I am Mike and I help out around our various Blood Cancer groups. I don’t have Chronic lymphocytic leukaemia (CLL) but for some context I was diagnosed way back in 1999 at 43 with my first type a rare Non Hodgkin's Lymphoma ……. eventually reaching Stage 4a in late 2013 when a second, also rare type of Non Hodgkin's Lymphoma appeared so although my blood cancer ‘type’ is different I most definitely appreciate the challenges of this journey rather well.
To answer your question...... from my experience I would say yes it needs to be declared. I was on Active Monitoring for 14 years before I needed full on treatment but was always advised by my consultant to declared my NHL......
My consultant said that Active Monitoring (Watch and Wait) was often seen as treatment by Insurance Companies even although there was no actual treatment!!!
We do have a dedicated group for folks with CLL, SLL and HCL so you may want to join and see what others experiences were.
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
