I have stage four Ovarian Cancer for which I have had surgery and one round of chemo, starting the next in two days. More to the point though I have had Cerebral Degeneration since Easter which has left me increasingly disabled. Does anyone else have this and are you struggling to have this treated? The oncologists seem only interested in the cancer and not as me as a whole person.
Hi 69Ruth and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.
I’m sorry to read about the cerebral degeneration you have alongside ovarian cancer.
The online community is divided into different support groups so I'm going to recommend that you join the ovarian cancer group, which is a great place to ask questions, share experiences and get support.
To join, just click on the link I've created and, once you've joined, you can start a new post in the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.
Unfortunately, there isn't a group for your other condition, as the community only covers cancer, but you may find someone in the ovarian cancer group with the same condition as people here often have co-morbidities.
It would be great if you could put something about your diagnosis and treatment to date into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
Sorry, I misunderstood. As I said though, if you join the ovarian cancer group you may find others there with cerebral degeneration.
Why? The neuro consultant and the cns team said they had never come across another case of ovarian cancer with cerebral degeneration. What I have is rare. I have no symptoms of ovarian cancer. I would rather direct this post to anyone with cancer
I suggested that you join the ovarian cancer group because you started your post with

The New to the Community group is like an entrance hall with rooms (groups) leading off it filled with people who have a particular type of cancer. Once in a room you can share experiences and get support.
You don't need to join the group for your type of cancer if you don't want to. You could maybe think about joining the general cancer discussions group.
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
